Rice of Pals

The rice of Pals has always had a good reputation due to the skill and environmental care of the local growers (they flood the fields between November and February to allow migrating birds, insects and the native flora to thrive there).

The particular texture and quality of the rice is due to the local climate which, by being cooler than other rice-growing areas, means that the rice spends more time in the ground, making it firmer so that it never turns mushy.
