Platja del Grau

This beach is to the north of the town, is partially residential and has an important area of dunes on its seaward side that has been cordoned off to limit access and protect it from the damage caused by people walking over it. The mouth of the Rec del Molí stream separates this beach from that of la Fonollera (in the municipal area of Torroella de Montgrí) creating a series of pools with great ecological interest, known as “Les Basses d’En Coll”, and which are included in the Natural Park of Montgrí, les Medes i el Baix Ter. It is limited to the north by the Rec del Molí which acts marks the beginning of la Fonollera beach (Torroella de Montgrí) and to the south it runs into the Platja Gran of Pals.

The Catalan Water Agency regularly tests the water for microbiology and environmental quality. The average quality rating of this beach is excellent.

Indication of the swimming area and access points for the landing and launching of vessels by buoys, safety equipment and lifeguards (from 15 June to 30 September), waste bins, showers, public toilets adapted for the disabled, daily cleaning of the sand (from 1 June to 30 September), disabled access, walkways, 2 amphibious beach chairs, sun-bed rentals, sailing classes and a parking area without guards.
